My mom and sister in law and I have started a tradition of getting together every year to make all of our Christmas treats for neighbors. It is so much fun, and we get a ton of baking done in one marathon day. Sadly, we had to cancel this year because I have been sick for almost three weeks. Not much of anything going on around here, and definitely no baking.

Last year, however, we put together over six dozen plates of goodies. One of the favorites was my sister in law’s recipe. It’s been a favorite in her family for years, but that was the first time I’ve tried it. Oh man is it good!

She calls it “Christmas Crack”, but that’s something different at my house, so I’m just calling it White Chocolate Puffcorn. Several people called me to get the recipe, and it’s so easy it’s almost embarrassing. If you haven’t tried it, you’ve got to!

How to make White Chocolate Puffcorn:

Ingredients for this recipe:

  • puffcorn
  • almond bark
  • sprinkles (optional)

Pour your puffcorn (sometimes called corn puffs) into a large bowl. Spread some waxed paper out on your counter or table.

Break the almond bark into pieces and place it in a glass bowl. Cook in the microwave at half power, stirring every 30 seconds or so till melted and smooth.

Pour the melted white chocolate over the puff corn and stir till coated evenly. Spread onto waxed paper.

Add sprinkles if desired, then let sit till hardened.

That’s it! The hard part is trying not to eat half the batch. 🙂

What is puffcorn? It’s a puffed corn product that tastes similar to popcorn, but is made from cornmeal. It’s kind of like a puffy Cheeto but without the cheese. For this recipe, you want to make sure you get plain or buttered.

What can I add to my Puffcorn? You can totally adapt this recipe to your taste, and to work for any occasion. I added Christmas sprinkles, but it would be fun to change up the colors for any holiday. It could even be made with blue or pink sprinkles for a baby shower. And of course you can add any candy or nuts that you love.

Seriously guys, this stuff is so addicting! It’s salty, sweet, and crunchy all rolled into one irresistible treat. I had to hurry and get it packaged for our neighbors because everyone in my family keep snitching it as they walked past.

It really is perfect for gift giving because it keeps really well. Just scoop it into gift bags and add a cute Christmas tag and you’re good to go!
