Home / Holidays / Festive Popcorn Balls — 8 Different Flavors!
· Blessed Beyond Crazy · 7 Comments
Popcorn is a wonderful snack that everyone loves and is eaten all year round! Yet, for some reason, popcorn balls only make an appearance around Christmas.
So I seized this opportunity to make every flavor combination of popcorn balls that I could think up!
These are quick and easy to make! The best part: no corn syrup! These are made with marshmallows… just like a Rice Krispie treat, except with popcorn.

Getting Started
These were so quick and easy to make! Only 15 minutes from start to finish! I think I’m going to have to start making these all year long!
I used 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels with 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a Whirley Pop on my stovetop. This is my favorite way to make popcorn.
I highly recommend using coconut oil! It makes washing out your Whirley Pop so much easier than other cooking oils. Plus it makes your popcorn taste amazing!
Since I was adding different flavors to my popcorn I wanted unflavored popcorn. So I do not recommend using microwave popcorn to make your popcorn balls.
Make sure you have all your ingredients prepped and ready to go before you start melting your marshmallows. The marshmallows melt pretty quickly. Once you have added your popcorn and other ingredients to the melted marshmallows they set up pretty quickly. You’ll want to shape them into balls.
If children are helping make sure the mixture is cool enough before they start shaping the balls so they don’t burn their fingers. When I made these I started shaping the balls almost immediately. If it was too hot for me to touch I dropped the mixture into blobs ontoparchment paper, using aspatula, and then shaped each blob into a ball once it had cooled.
Each recipe makes 10-15 popcorn balls depending on how big you make them. Each recipe takes about 15 minutes to make start to finish.
The only flavors that NOT gluten-free are the S’Mores and the Oreo flavored popcorn balls.

How far in advance can these be made? How can they be stored?

Hi Tina,As you know, fresh is always best. However, the popcorn balls should keep well for up to 24 to 48 hours, depending on the humidity level in your neck of the woods. High humidity may tend to make popcorn balls a tad bit sticky/tacky so try to consume them within 24 hours if possible. Thanks for stopping by and we hope you enjoy all 8 flavors of popcorn balls!
