Birthday Cake Cheese Ball:
I don’t know if it’s the same for you, but birthday cake ranks near the top of my favorite desserts. I’m sure it sounds crazy to some folks. However, I’m even a fan of the classic grocery store birthday cake. Serve it up with a scoop of ice cream, and I’m a happy human. Anyone else? (BTW, for me, it needs to be vanilla cake, vanilla icing, and vanilla ice cream.)
I suppose that’s why a birthday cake-inspired cheese ball seems like an excellent idea. Covered with sprinkles, it’s not only yummy but fun and colorful, too!
How to Make a Birthday Cake Cheese Ball:
The process is simple. Start by whipping together cream cheese and butter.
Next, beat in funfetti cake mix, extra sprinkles, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract. There’s just a touch of almond extract in this recipe, but I think it adds a depth of flavor. I personally love desserts with almond extract.
Once everything is incorporated, transfer the mixture to a sheet of plastic wrap. As you wrap it, shape it into a ball. Then, place the cheeseball in the refrigerator so it can firm up.

Before serving, roll the ball in a bowl filled with sprinkles. It’s at this point that the magic happens! The ball instantly transforms into this colorful sprinkle-coated beauty. What’s not to love!?
After that, your Birthday Cake Cheese Ball is ready to be served. I chose vanilla wafers and shortbread for serving, but feel free to use whatever cookies you like best.

Notes
*The raw flour in cake mix may contain harmful bacteria. Before using the cake mix, microwave the mix until it reaches at least 160 degrees. This will take about one minute and 15 seconds in a standard microwave. I recommend stirring the mixture every 15 seconds while microwaving for best results.
